I wonder what's happening with that kimono I haven't worn in ages... For those who don't usually wear kimonos, unfolding and refolding them can be difficult, and they tend to stay stored away for a long time.
Many people today find themselves unable to inspect their kimonos themselves and lack people around them to ask about kimono care. At Miyabi, we offer free kimono inspections. It's okay if the kimono wasn't purchased from Miyabi. It's reassuring to have your kimono inspected after wearing it or before storing it for a long time.

This kimono is recommended for

A kimono that's been left as is after being worn
We'll inspect points where stains tend to accumulate, such as the collar, cuffs, and hem, to check for dirt and see if cleaning is necessary.

A kimono stored away for many years
(Formal kimonos such as mourning kimonos, tomesode, furisode, houmongi, iro-muji, and children's kimonos...)
In addition to stains and dirt, we will check for yellowing or mold due to aging, and whether the dimensions are still correct. If you also bring accessory sets, we will check if everything is complete so you can wear it at any time.

The kimono I want to wear next time
(Coming-of-Age ceremonies, weddings, shrine visits for newborns, Shichi-Go-San festivals, entrance ceremonies, graduation ceremonies, tea ceremonies, lessons, class reunions, plays, dining out...)
We also offer consultations on the condition of your kimono, as well as coordination advice for TPO (time, place, occasion) and accessories such as obi (sashes) and small items.

Kimono for sale
Kimono are wonderful traditional Japanese garments that aren't heavily influenced by trends and can be passed down to the next generation, such as daughters or granddaughters. Before passing them on, we check the kimono's condition and measurements.
